BOXING VIDEO

This was the first video I assisted in. I was the interviewer throughout all pieces of the video and guided the focus of the story. I worked with the videographer and learned about camera positioning, the logistics of working a mic and camera in video settings. Video is an interesting process to be a part of because writing and video share basic qualities of storytelling but rather than describing the details, video shows detail. 

PROJECT

My first try at making a full video by myself was for a Toyota scholarship opportunity. In February, a student at East died in a reckless driving  car accident. After thorough consideration, our staff decided to write a story about a glimpse of the student's life through his peers, parents, sister and coaches. This safety video, with the addition of the Harbinger logo and adjusting the ending, is up for debate to be put on our website as an ad for safe teen driving. Because our publication quickly reaches a student body of 1,700, this ad would serve as an impactful reminder of the serious implications of not driving safe.
